However, with the right knowledge and the right products, it is possible to restore the shine and clean appearance of your grout.

Cleaning the grout

With just two products, your grout will be extremely clean.

  1. Baking soda and water: A paste of baking soda and water is an effective cleaning agent for grout. Apply the paste to the grout and scrub with a toothbrush or soft-bristled brush.

  2. White vinegar is a natural disinfectant that can also be used to clean grout. Mix equal parts vinegar and water and apply the solution to dirty areas. Let sit for a few minutes.

Step by step

  • Start by removing loose dirt and grout residue, using a dry brush or cloth;
  • Prepare a chosen cleaning solution, such as a baking soda paste or a mixture of vinegar and water.

  • Apply the solution to the dirty grout and let it act for a few minutes to soften the dirt.

  • Scrub the grout with a toothbrush or soft-bristled brush, applying moderate pressure to remove stains and dirt.

  • Rinse an area with clean water to remove cleaning solution residue. Then, dry the grout with a clean cloth or towel to prevent moisture build-up.

  • To keep sets clean longer, apply a moisturizing sealant after cleaning. This helps protect against future stains and dirt.

Cleaning grout can be a laborious process, but by choosing the appropriate products and regular maintenance, it is possible to keep the tiles looking impeccable and the grout clean and compact.
