If you find yourself in the position of needing to charge someone who is delinquent, don't worry, there are ways to do so effectively and respectfully. Break the ice with these 5 powerful phrases!

5 phrases to collect who owes us

1. “On what date can you make the transfer?”

By agreeing to set a date, you demonstrate flexibility and understanding, which can make the less tense situation and indicate that you are willing to find a solution that is convenient for both the parts.

This way, you can keep the dialogue open and collaborative, facilitating the billing process without creating unnecessary confrontations.

2. “Can we negotiate that debt?”

Another phrase that can guarantee a good and respectful conversation with your debtor. You can suggest negotiating the debt and, thus, the debtor can fulfill the commitment.

If the debtor accepts the idea, ensure that he complies with the agreement on a specific date each month.

3. “Did you send the receipt?”

Another phrase that can also save your dialogue with the debtor is asking if he was able to send proof of the bank transfer.

This way, you can ensure that the debtor admits that he is in trouble or you will pressure him to carry out the transfer at that moment.

4. “Do you need help paying off your debt?”

Remind him that the debt exists and that you haven't forgotten what should be done. Be available for possible understanding and try to make new agreements.

5. “Were you able to send the money?”

In some cases, you may be able to take the stance of someone who is not in control of the situation – but in reality, you will only be throwing a hint.

Take advantage of the debtor's response to be able to talk openly about the debt.
