After months of falling prices, the Red meat re-registered increase in October. With an average increase of 0.53%, the rump steak there was an increase of 2.91%, while sirloin rose 1.94%. The two form the cuts that led the rise in prices last month.

Even with the increase in October, the price of meat has seen an accumulated drop of 11.08% since December 2022. With the reduction, all cuts became cheaper, especially liver (-18.39%), filet mignon (-15.66%) and rump (-13.57%), as released by IBGE.
With the first increase since December last year, the cycle of four consecutive food deflations was interrupted. Thus, prices became a little higher again in October, with an increase of 0.31% in all foods that make up the group.
The IPCA (Broad National Consumer Price Index) numbers in October show an increase in several
cuts of meat, being them:In addition to beef, pork also registered an increase of +0.57%, while mutton increased by 0.38%. On the other hand, other beef cuts maintained the reduction and prevented a greater increase in the final price of meat:
The main beef substitutes are also more expensive. O chicken had an increase of 0.42%, while fish registered an increase of 0.54%. In the first ten months of the year, chicken pieces had a reduction of 11.97% in value, while the whole piece is 9.53% more affordable.
Other common proteins on Brazilians' tables fell last month, such as long-life milk (-5.48%) and chicken eggs (-2.85%). In relation to industrialized products, ham had a reduction of -0.65% and sausage of -0.79%. Sausage (-1.08%), salami (-0.79%), cod (-2.52%) and dried meat (-0.65%) also showed lower values in supermarkets.
