This is the agenda of the Meeting of Ministers of Education (RME) – the highest authority in the Sector Mercosul Educational Conference – which will be held next Thursday (23), at the Ministry of Education (MEC). The RME is made up of the Ministers of Education of the Mercosur member states (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) and the bloc's associated countries, which include Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname.

Country held more than 50 meetings – Also next Thursday (23) the term of the Pro Tempore Brasil presidency ends, which began in July this year, a period in which more than 50 virtual meetings were held with the area commissions of Mercosur member states and countries associated with the Mercosur block.
During this administration, the MEC received high-level representatives from the Ministries of Education and equivalent agencies from the different Mercosur countries, in meetings that counted on the participation of foreign embassies, international organizations and other Brazilian associations and educational institutions have participated in the discussions.
The series of area committee meetings currently taking place in Brasília (DF) includes activities coordinated by the Secretariat of Basic Education (SEB), by the Secretariat of Higher Education (Sesu), by the Secretariat of Professional and Technological Education (Setec), by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) and by the Advisory International. The purpose of these face-to-face meetings is to discuss the semester's conclusions; raise the progress of actions and prepare recommendations to be forwarded to ministers in the RME.
Also on this occasion, the Ministry of Education of Paraguay must present the expected results for the Pro presidency Tempore of the country (PPTP), which will come into force from the first half of 2004, as well as the respective schedule of activities.
