With the high temperatures that have been plaguing several parts of Brazil, many people used social media to complain about something other than sweat: an iPhone that was too hot. Users of Android also made the same complaint, mainly on X, formerly Twitter.
On very hot days, the cell phone can, in fact, become very hot and this will directly impact its functioning. The iPhone, for example, when it reaches a certain temperature, goes into “emergency” mode and puts a warning on the screen.

To help cell phones function better, many companies have launched applications that promise to help cool the devices. But do they really work?
According to G1, these applications, available for both iPhone as for Android, they indirectly reduce the temperature of cell phones. In other words, it will not activate a “secret cooling system” on the cell phone, but it will recommend some things to the user.
For example, it can score what is consuming the most memory or battery at that moment. And, with this information, the user completes these activities and helps improve the device's performance.
You could say, then, that it works more like a “manager” inside your hot iPhone. And, don't worry, according to the report, he won't leave your device further warm. Generally, they do not demand much from the cell phone's performance.
However, two things must be noted. The first is that the user needs to check whether the application is trustworthy. And the second is that it is not that necessary, since the session and adjustments of most new generation cell phones already provide this analysis.
There are some everyday things you can do to prevent your iPhone (or Android) from getting too hot.
The first of them is, of course, not to put the phone in direct contact with the sun. Especially if it is protected by rubberized covers – they can even concentrate the heat even more.
From time to time, close background applications and turn off functions you are not using, such as data or WiFi and GPS. Also, don't abuse the screen brightness and don't use your cell phone while it's charging.
Speaking of charging, only use original equipment.
If your cell phone gets too hot, don't put it in the refrigerator! Turn it off, wait a few minutes, and turn it on again.
