Have you ever imagined a router that works without being connected with cables? Well, the Alive imagined and will soon bring it to the public.
According to exclusive information obtained by Tecnoblog, the mobile phone, internet and cable TV operator is investing in the so-called Vivo Box 5G, a device that will make this possible.

In short, the router will work without wires (even fiber optic ones). The new Vivo Box 5G will basically be a receiver/transmitter that on the one hand captures the 5G signal and on the other hand transmits it via Wi-Fi.
Currently, Vivo already has a similar service, but it is only offered to business customers. Now, the service will be available to individual users for R$150 per month in a 150 GB allowance.
To function fully, the Vivo Box 5G, which is an FWA (fixed device that works wirelessly), will need an internet chip to connect to Vivo's mobile phone network.
Looking at it this way, the new service is very similar to the old Wi-Fi modems, but here we are talking about something much more powerful.
As far as has been determined, the connection will be powerful and will have all the main modern broadband protocols.
A “hands on” for connecting in remote locations
The new fixed broadband service 5G Vivo may be “useless” in some urban locations. On the other hand, the service represents salvation in some remote locations.
Rural communities, for example, where internet cabling is more complicated, can benefit from this type of connection, as long as they have Vivo signal coverage.
According to what was found by Tecnoblog, Vivo does not yet have a launch date for the new residential 5G service.
So far, what is known is that the Vivo Box 5G will be sold nationwide at a price of R$150 per month, as already mentioned.
Meanwhile, the operator continues to sell its 4G + Vivo Box wi-fi modem kit with a 100 GB allowance that costs around R$106 per month.
