The great sailings were expeditions by European navigators in the Atlantic Ocean, around the world, in search of new territories and civilizations. This process was spearheaded by the Portuguese and soon after, the idea was adopted by the Spaniards and later, England and France.
This historical theme is quite interesting because it teaches us a little about how the process of civilization was in the regions of the world, teaches us, for example, why we speak Portuguese, Argentines, Chileans, Bolivians speak Spanish, etc.
