Once upon a time there was an Author with a vague idea for a new story. And since in this story there was a real vacancy for a Character, he thought of starting his search by placing an ad in the newspaper.
“We are looking for a Character willing to live thrilling adventures. It is not necessary to have experience in the subject, but some characteristics will be especially considered: a certain physical preparation, quick thinking and charismatic personality.”
The first candidate to present himself immediately said:
– I participated in important passages from many famous books, immortalized by starred characters.
– Oh, congratulations! You are right. Great characters don't age. […] It's a shame, but a supporting role of advanced age is not what I'm looking for. Sorry!
Two days and many crumpled pages later, the Author gets another candidate – a very sincere type, but quite immature.
– I've had _______ many imaginations, but…
- But?
– I never got to paper…
– Ah…
– I have a lot of potential, but…
- But?
– I need someone who believes in me, who deciphers me and reveals me with all the letters, do you understand?
– You're very interesting, but…
