The summer

On a hot day, Lili went to cool off under a tree in her mother's backyard. A jabuticaba fell beside her and Lili was curious! I wanted to know why some fall and others don't. His mother smiled, as she always did, and replied:
– It's December! And, in summer, the berries fall to spread the seeds. Sometimes birds drop them, other times insects do. The animals work so that other trees are born. Lili didn't even have to run to get sweating as the day was muggy and hot. Then he asked:

– Mom, do the plants feel hot?
- No dear. The little plants feed on sunlight. That's why, in summer, they grow more. They have light, heat and water.
The girl thought that the plants only had water in winter. A wind stirred the leaves and Lili pointed to the sky. At that instant, lightning cut across the sky.
– In summer, thunderstorms happen, daughter. Let's go home so we don't get wet.
From the window of the house, Lili watched the wind and rain bending the plants. Somehow, she felt happy and satisfied. Her mother hugged her.
– Summer sometimes seems scary, but plants like it a lot! That's nature.
