, its small size, its long tail and its agility make the golden lion tamarin one of the friendliest animals of our fauna. It lives for about eight years, has daytime habits and, at night, sleeps in hollow trees or tangles of vines and bromeliads. It feeds on fruits, invertebrate animals and small vertebrates. Some studies show that the golden lion tamarin eats more than 60 species of plants and, after digesting them, helps to disperse their seeds throughout the environment.
