With chapters dedicated to different fields of knowledge - such as medicine, physics, biology, earth sciences and cosmology – the work brings a selection of the main discoveries of the science of the 20th century. Written in plain language by zoologist Rupert Lee, from Queen's College, Oxford, England, the book is based on the articles in which such discoveries were originally described - and the author is careful to cite the sources, giving the reader a chance to consult them.
