Not everything that astronomy studies can be explained by observations alone. This is the case with black holes, which are regions of the universe where gravity is so, so strong that no particles can escape them. Inside black holes, there is a singularity: region in which gravity becomes infinitely large, covered by a horizon, which is the boundary between the region where nothing can leave and the rest of the Universe. A horizonless singularity is called a naked singularity. The horizon, therefore, hides the singularity. And look how curious: some of these singularities produce very strange situations in their surroundings, such as the possibility of something happening before its cause. Therefore, although it cannot be guaranteed, it is well accepted that singularities should only exist “dressed”, that is, in the form of black holes, never naked.
