The five charging points distributed by Cidade do Rock will have the capacity to generate 1.38 kWh/day of energy
In the midst of several actions that seek to solve the serious environmental problem that is plaguing the entire planet, Brazil is considered one of the countries with the greatest interest sustainable development in the world and has been relentlessly seeking initiatives that can minimize the damage caused by deforestation and the use of energy from power plants hydroelectric power plants.
Thus, one of the biggest music festivals in the country, Rock in Rio, decided this year to unite fun and sustainability in one place. In addition to the actions organized by Amazônia Live, Rock in Rio 2017's official socio-environmental project, the event will bring, in September, five points with solar trees, where the public will be able to charge cell phones with 100% energy clean.
Called OPTree, the project is a partnership between Comerc Energia and startup Sunew, companies that decided to take clean energy, produced by means of organic photovoltaic films, which transform sunlight into electrical energy, capable of charging cell phone batteries through outlets USB.
The trees that were created 100% in Brazil will be distributed throughout the park and one in the VIP area and will bring several benefits to users, as well as the possibility to charge the cell phone, light bulbs and even internet routers.
According to information from the director of special projects, Roberta Coelho, disclosed in an official release, the project was designed to be installed in other public areas and also at Rock in Rio, showing the festival audience that it is possible, yes, to collaborate with the environment in a practical and very simple.
Together, the five trees _________ have the capacity to generate 1.38 kWh/day, enough for site lighting and to charge 10 mobile devices simultaneously for 12 hours.
