What are functional foods?

Did you know that some foods contain substances that can help treat and prevent certain diseases? These are called functional foods that, in addition to being a source of various nutrients, have other components that bring health benefits. And whoever thinks that this care is only recommended for the elderly is wrong! A balanced diet should start in childhood.
