NAME:

The Water Train

Deep inside the Amazon Forest, where the trees are so tall they reach the clouds and the leaves from the forest are so big that we could live under them, there lived a giant snake called Cobra Gil. When night fell, the insects made so much noise that Cobra Gil woke up. She came out of her hole-house, stretched all over her body and yawned so long, making a sound so thick that all the animals were silent with fear. Even the jaguar cowered in its hole, terrified. And Cobra Gil, tired of sleeping, went out for his routine night walk.

When the animals realized that it was Cobra Gil – the biggest in the forest – that was going out for a swim, they asked to climb on its back. So she swam upstream looking like a train, as she carried birds, monkeys, toucans, frogs, beetles, cicadas, ants and lizards. In his head were the fireflies lighting the way. Alligators and fishermen, when they saw that monster with its head lit up and its body that chirped, screamed, hummed and hummed, said:

– Run away! All flee! The train of the haunting with the head of fire is coming!
