With only water, sun and earth, a vegetable is capable of producing its own food. This is true for almost everyone, but some exotic species also need to eat meat. We're talking about amazing carnivorous plants.
Every carnivorous plant is capable of attracting, trapping and digesting animal life. But don't be scared, there's no risk of you becoming a plant dinner. Only small animals – such as insects, spiders or small birds – are at risk.
To eat, a carnivore must first attract its prey. Ordinary flowers attract pollinators with warm colors and nectar odors. Carnivores use the same strategies in order to devour what they attract. The light reflected from the sticky drops of some species is also attractive.
