It is not known exactly who assembled and built the most famous statue in Brazil, inaugurated on 10/12/1931 – it must have been dozens of workers. There is only information about the project, created by the engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, with a drawing by the artist Carlos Oswald.
In 1923, Hector's idea won a competition and, three years later, construction began.
