Who ever saw the donkey Stephanus with a saddle on his back? You certainly didn't see it!
For Stephanos, from an early age, refuses to carry it. It was his dad who told him "the saddle hurts, my little boy"
So the stubborn donkey decided he could carry everything but the farmer's saddle. When the latter approaches to put his log on his back, Estefano runs away.
