Pilu loved to race with his friends. Before the start, the three hares stood next to each other to be fair.
– When I count to three, we start! – warned Pilu. – Whoever gets to the hedge first wins!
At the signal, they began to run. Pilu was running too fast when her little turtledove friend flew over her long ears and announced:
– Pilu, go back to your lair and your cubs will be born!
He was so moved that he missed the path in the forest.

'I'll be too late,' she whined. - too late…
– No, Pilu! – replied the little turtledove. – I'm here to help you. Follow me.
Pilu followed her bird friend zigzagging through the trees and came breathlessly to the burrow. He caught his breath just in time to caress his little hares for the first time!
