What will I be...

Days before, Mom and I were at the supermarket, when the owner of 46… the one in the apartment below showed up.
– Oh! How cute… – And, as always, she hung on my cheeks. Only this time, she went further: – Tell auntie… what will you be when you grow up? It says?
I wanted to answer: “I'm going to be a HUGE gorilla!!!”, but Mom helped me in time:
– Ah, Fernandinho will be a doctor like his father…
The owner of 46 liked it and again came up to my cheeks, thinking I was "cute"... but I was more alive: I quickly bent down to fix the tennis string… getting rid of those hands of pliers!

- But - continued the mother - by the will of the grandmother he will be a lawyer. Although I think he would make a great engineer.
I popped my eye out.
And I thought it would be something exciting! Maybe tour guide in Africa… maybe ambulance driver… or, who knows, actor from the 7:00 soap opera?! I felt like an island of indecision, surrounded by professions on all sides. That morning, at breakfast, my father came up with the hint:
– You mean we'll have one more doctor in the family? - And, in the style of the owner of 46, she pinched my cheeks.
On the way to school I started thinking about how boring the profession of being an adult is. It's having to think about what the children will be when they grow up… At school, where I thought I was in an antifuxico refuge, the bomb came! In Portuguese class, the theme of the essay was: "What will you be when you grow up?"
So I wrote it like this:
By my father: doctor.
By grandma: lawyer.
By mom: engineer.
By aunt Luiza: dentist (she said she has to have one in the family because it's expensive).
By uncle Polidoro (who is a nurse): nurse.
By the neighbor: political (he said he is the one who earns the most in this country).
When I reread the essay, I thought I was confused… but it was just like my head!
