To explain their respective meanings and prevent you from making mistakes when using these words, we have set aside some examples about the use of the words us and agent:
The expression a gente is a pronominal phrase that informally represents the straight personal pronoun “we”, which refers to a set of people. It is formed by the singular feminine definite article “a”, separated from the noun “people”. This word became in common use mainly in the spoken language, due to its informality.
Despite meaning the same as the pronoun “we”, it is worth remembering that “we” must always be followed by a singular verb. For example: when replacing “we do”, you should use “we do”. It is important to emphasize that this form should only be used in informal situations.
See below the examples of the use of the word "we" in the Portuguese language:
Originating in Latin acts, this word refers to the individual who acts, operates. It can be a noun or an adjective, depending on how it is used.
Usually the word “agent” is used to indicate a professional in charge of carrying out an action, such as an administrator of an agency, a prison guard or a secret agent. Therefore, some of the synonyms can be attorney, manager, promoter, agent, intermediary or negotiator.
An interesting point of this word is that it can be used for both genres without the need to change its grammar. Furthermore, “agent” has meanings within chemistry as a synonym for active principle, through chemical agents.

More in: Session or Section?
As mentioned above, the word “we” is nothing more than a variation of the pronoun we. So it just depends on the occasion on which the expression is to be used.
For example, if you are chatting with friends on a social network, using us is completely normal. However, if the intention is to send a formal email to a company, use the pronoun we to show seriousness and professionalism.
It is important to remember that academic papers also require a more formal language, as a way of validating your research. So don't forget: we must use the “we” when we make use of the cultured norm and want a more formal environment.
Still in doubt? The two words are correct and exist in the Portuguese language, but their meanings are quite different.
