Singer Lays Queiroz, 14, resident of Sorriso, is getting ready to release her first CD. According to her father, Paulo Queiroz, the recording of the song “O Close”, theme of the soap opera Carinha de Anjo, on SBT, has boosted the career of the young woman, who now dreams of other steps. “The intention is to record the CD. Fátima Leão (singer and songwriter from Goiás) wrote a song for her, which should be included in this album. The country singer Marília Mendonça was also willing to record a song with her,” he said to Só Notícias.
Lays' career began to take off in 2015, when singer-songwriter Serginho Pinheiro, who is a friend from the family, was in Peixoto de Azevedo (197 km from Sinop), where the young woman was born and lived, until then. “She has always liked to sing, since she was seven years old. Serginho listened, recorded a song and sent it to Arnaldo Saccomani (music producer). He got in touch last year and showed interest in recording a song for the soap opera”, explained her father.
The song interpreted by Lays was composed in 2005, by Sérgio Pinheiro himself, in co-authorship with Carlos Randall and Zéo Moreira. In the telenovela, the version sung by the young woman rocks the romance of the couple Gustavo Larios and sister Cecília. For Paulo, the child singer should start to gain even more visibility in the coming months. “The soap opera's CD is about to come out and, when that happens, she will start performing on SBT programs. There are still some conversations with the soap's directors so that she can record another song”.
In April of this year, Lays Queiroz recorded a music video in São Paulo (SP), interpreting the song from the soap opera. On Youtube, there are already more than 5,200 views.
