Through an inspired prophecy, the book of Revelation. reveals that, in “a place called Har–Magedon in Hebrew,” “the kings of. all the inhabited earth” would be gathered together “for the war of the great day of God, the. Almighty”.

According to the Holy Scriptures, God stipulated a day for. settle accounts with humanity. According to the account of Revelation 19:11-16 o. king who was appointed to fight in this battle is Jesus Christ himself. According to the holy book, everyone who opposes the authority of God e. any enemy of his will be executed by this celestial army.
This battle has a name: Armageddon.
In ancient times, Armageddon or “Har–Magedon” (em. Hebrew, Har Meghiddóhn), was the name of a historic city and meant. “mount of Megiddo” and that city was a territory belonging to ancient Israel.
According to the history books, Megiddo was a region. known for having been the stage of decisive battles, where some are. reported in the Bible. But the biblical account that describes the epic battle between. God and his enemies cannot be referring to the literal place in Israel by. two reasons:
Therefore, we can conclude that Armageddon is the name of battle of God against political powers that. they will unite for the last time in opposition to his government, according to the Bible.
Again, to answer that question, we have to resort to. Bible. Parallel to this account in Revelation are some biblical passages. report weapons that God has used in the past against planet earth. Between the. main are:
The Bible even quotes a passage in Zechariah 14:13 that. reveals another weapon of God: "In that day. Jehovah (God's name) will spread great confusion among them; and each one. he will grab his neighbor and raise his hand against his neighbor.”.
That is, the enemies of God will be so confused that. they will attack each other in their own territory, without realizing that they are weapons. of the Creator Himself.
Not according to the Scriptures. The same book that reveals. this disturbing battle clarifies what will happen to humanity in the. future. First, the Old Testament book of Psalm 37:29 says that. God created the earth for humans to live on forever.
So it would be contradictory for Him to destroy it. Some other passages also assert that God's purpose for a. humanity is not its extermination. (Ecclesiastes 1:4)
Contrary to what most people think – that. Armageddon will only mean devastation and extinction of the human race, the Bible. it speaks of a great many people who will survive this day.
In the same book that preaches destruction by God, he speaks of a hope for people who are not his enemies. Here are the excerpts. in full:
“After that I saw a great crowd, that no man was. able to count, of all nations, tribes, peoples and languages, standing on. from the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in long white robes, and there was. palm leaves in your hands." (Revelation 7:9);
"So I. I immediately told him: "My lord, it is you who knows." He told me, “These. are those who come out of the great tribulation; they washed their long garments and the. whitened in the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:14).
“Wait on Jehovah and. follow his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the land. When the. bad ones are eliminated, you will see that”. (Psalm 37:34)
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures
