It is one of the most varied forms of art. In every time and place in the world, we find a different way of making music.
Clap your hands, snap your fingers, whistle. The first man-made sounds like these came from his own body. He later discovered that he could produce sounds with everyday objects. Thus, wood, bones, rocks and shells were the first materials used to make musical objects, which were later called musical instruments.
Probably, the first songs appeared when man realized that, joining the sounds produced by his body with the sounds taken from everyday objects, it could produce sequences of sounds and silence, with a rhythm pleasant. He liked the result so much that he figured the gods he believed in would like it too, and so he started making songs to honor them.
