Travel or travel? What's the difference? Even with close senses, Travel and Travel are two different words. According to the Portuguese language, neither of the two forms is incorrect, contrary to what many people think. While one is a verb, the other is a noun, differentiating their meanings.

Travel
This word is classified as a feminine noun. It is used in the sense of indicating a displacement to some place, that is, going from one point to another far away. Every act of traveling must be defined by “travel”.
It is written with g because the spelling rule states that nouns ending “in” must always be written with “G”. Some similar cases are the words image, origin and rust.

This is the 3rd person plural conjugation of the present subjunctive of the verb Viajar. It can also be the 3rd person plural conjugation of the imperative. The word, like “journey”, also means to travel, to travel a certain path, but in a different way. Being, then, a derivation of “travel”, it needs to be written with the consonant “J”.
