THE activity (the newspaper) is a wonderful suggestion to work with your students, check out the goals that children will achieve:

• Identify the structure of a newspaper, its periodicity, the assembly of its sections and the characteristics of each part: name and type of information, etc.
• Recognize the characteristics of the front page: type of information, headlines, news summaries, fonts, etc.
• Enable the student to find out how to find the desired information in the newspaper.
• Use the computer in the teaching-learning process, asking students to develop newspaper articles related to the subjects.

Reading

This activity will be carried out as an introduction to reading the book, based on a creation that uses the names of its characters and some of its elements.

THE 3rd year Portuguese reading activities has the following goals:

• Encourage creation
• Develop literary reasoning for poetry in children
• Fix the concept of rhyme, consequently developing the vocabulary
• Develop the notion of intertextuality

to forehead activity, we will need the following materials, check it out:

• notebook
• pen, pencil and eraser

Step by step and procedure:

• The teacher will only show the book to the room, the cover and the illustrations, but will not read it yet.
• Write the following titles for poems on the blackboard: The Flower, The Juvenal Frog, The Tic-Tac Turtle, The Anteater, Godofredo the Alligator, The Vase-Machine, The Piá Indian, The Smart Horse, The Tree of Various Fruits. If necessary, provide more titles.
• The teacher will distribute the titles, one for each student (no problem if there are repeated titles).
• Each one will make a poem, with rhymes, using the title given to them in the draw.
• When everyone is finished, choose a few students to recite their poems to the class.
