Priscila de Ávila has been dedicated to planting for 10 years and her main highlight is Carolina Heaper, the hottest pepper in the world
This Monday (10), Brasil Rural interviewed Priscila de Ávila, a rural producer who has been dedicated to the cultivation of peppers for ten years. Her production gained notoriety within the world pepper market and earned her the title of Mestre Pimenteira. “I am the only female pepper master in the world,” she said.
Priscila said that she has already cultivated 210 types of pepper, but that she is now dedicated exclusively to Carolina Reaper, considered the hottest in the world, according to the Scoville scale that measures the ardor of the chili. According to her, two good allies to relieve the burning sensation in the mouth are dairy products or bread crumbs.
“The Carolina Reaper pepper is originally from South Carolina. It's a cross between Bhut Jolokia and Habanero Red and Ed Currie made the cross.”
