Knowing what students already know is in fact essential for the starting point of teacher planning. This practice has been widespread in the initial grades of elementary school. And, in addition, many authors endorse this practice, offering theoretical references that support it.
More important than worrying about the content to be given is the fact that the teacher makes the assessment initial diagnosis and thus establish the conceptual, procedural and attitudinal objectives to be achieved.
Thinking about it today I bring you a Diagnostic Evaluation suitable for students of the first year of elementary school. This review is ready to print.

This is an important moment for the school, for the students and, above all, for you. It is a privileged moment, whose objectives are the diagnostic evaluation of the literacy process in the 1st year and the planning of the pedagogical work, aiming at the learning of all students in time expected.
1- Talk to your students about this moment, explaining that it is important for each one to show what they learned. It is also important to tell them that this is a special activity and that it will serve you, Professor, to help them learn more and more.
2- Those responsible must be notified, so that their children are encouraged to be present at school.
3- On the day of the assessment, welcome your students, as always, with great affection, and try to maintain an atmosphere of serenity for the good development of the activities.
4- Before starting the assessment, explain the entire process to them with ease, emphasizing the need to keep silent and pay close attention to the instructions that will be given by you, Professor, for each question.
5- Encourage them to respond. But, at the same time, show them that if they can't resolve a certain issue, there will be other times for the difficulties to be overcome.
6- It is of fundamental importance that you, Professor, follow the instructions for each question. What is preceded by the word TEACHER are the commands, which must be read slowly by you - except what is in parentheses, as these contain procedural instructions that concern only to you.

THE 1 year diagnostic evaluation, helps to identify the causes of specific difficulties of students in the assimilation of knowledge, both related. their personal development regarding the identification of which curriculum contents have needs for learning.
It can be done at any time, but at the beginning of the school year it allows for a better understanding of the student's reality.
The teacher has the duty to verify the prior knowledge of each one, verifying the necessary conditions to guarantee learning.
In addition, it also works as an analysis of teaching at school, since the results of classrooms in the same series can promote important reflections for the re-planning of proposals and activities that should be offered to all.
In total there are 10 pages in a super booklet of 1 year initial diagnostic evaluation, check out:
