A mouse was about to be devoured by a hungry cat when a passing lion, moved by its despair, scared the cat away. Recovered from the fright, the mouse thanked:

– Thank you so much for saving my life, Your Majesty. You are the king of the forest and you would not need to worry about a being as insignificant as me. But one day I will return this favor to you.

The lion, who hadn't done that with the reward in mind, went on his way:

– Poor little mouse, how could he return a favor to the king of beasts?

The next day, the lion was walking distractedly when he stepped on an extended net to trap him. As soon as he got his paw into the trap, the net closed over his body.

– Alas. I will stay here all night until the hunters arrive and kill me without pity or pity.
