We selected in this post some suggestions for Identity and autonomy activities to work with students from Child education.
The construction of the identity it happens through the child's interactions with their social environment. The Kindergarten School is a different social universe than the family, favoring new interactions, thus expanding their knowledge about themselves and others. Self-image is also built from the relationships established in the groups in which the child lives.
An environment full of interactions, which embraces the particularities of each individual, promotes the recognition of diversities, accepting them and respecting them, while contributing to the construction of collective unity, favors the structuring of identity, as well as a self-image positive.

According to the National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Education, identity refers to the idea of distinction. The document says: “it is a mark of difference between people, starting with their name, followed by all physical characteristics, ways of acting, thinking and personal history”.
Building the identity implies knowing one's own tastes and preferences and mastering skills and limits, always taking into account the culture, society, environment and people with whom one lives. This self-knowledge begins at the beginning of life and continues until its end, but it is essential that some knowledge is acquired while still in day care.
