ONE DAY THE FOX INVITED THE STORK TO DINNER AND SERVED HIM SOUP, WHICH THEY BOTH ENJOYED A LOT, ON A FLAT DISH.
– ARE YOU ENJOYING MY SOUP? – HE ASKED, WHILE THE STORK NIPPED THE LIQUID IN VAIN, WITHOUT GETTING ANYTHING TO EAT.
– HOW CAN I KNOW IF I CAN'T EAT? – THE STORK ANSWERED, SEEING THE FOX LICKING THE SOUP WITH A DELICATE AIR.
DAYS LATER IT WAS THE STORK'S TURN TO RETURN THE INVITATION, INVITING THE FOX TO EAT WITH HIM AT HIS HOUSE BY THE LAKE. HE SERVED HIM SOUP IN A BROAD JUG BELOW AND NARROW ABOVE.
– HUMMMMM, IT'S DELICIOUS, DEAR FRIEND! - EXCLAIMED THE STORK, STUFFING THE LONG BEAK THROUGH THE BOTTLE. - DO NOT YOU THINK?
OF COURSE THE FOX DIDN'T THINK, NOR COULD FIND IT, BECAUSE THE SNOUT WAS NOT GOING THROUGH THE NARROW HOOP OF THE JUG. SHE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS UNTIL, VERY GRUMPY, SHE SAID GOODBYE TO THE STORK, MUGGLING BETWEEN TEETH:
– I DID NOT THINK ANYTHING FUN…!
