Dynamic back to school early childhood education

We selected in this post some suggestions for games and dynamics back to classes kindergarten. Wonderful tips to welcome and integrate the class in first day of school.

In order not to make the first few weeks of classes a taboo, it is important to think about the process of welcoming and adapting children, which the vast majority feel shy and embarrassed with everything around them (new school, new classroom, new classmates and teachers). With that, a question always arises,“What to do on the first day of class?”.

how is my colleague

Tell the class that everyone will get a "picture." Tape a child-sized sheet of Kraft paper to the wall. Position the student so that he is leaning against the sheet and, with a pencil, draw the outline of his body. Encourage the class to tell them about their hair, their face, if they wear glasses, etc. During the activity, repeat the student's name many times so that classmates can memorize it. Make the “picture” of everyone. Finally, ask a classmate to draw your outline, repeating the observation process, so that the children become familiar with you too. Hang the drawings on the wall and praise the group. Over the next few days, at the entrance, ask the class who each of the drawn classmates is and if he is present. If so, you get a round of applause. Leave the papers exposed for a while. It is important for the little ones that their productions stay there until they feel they belong to the group and the environment.

The materials we are going to use:

Hide in the living room bags or packages containing different materials that will be part of the children's daily life. It can be, for example, books, games, brush, scissors or some clay. Invite the children to look for the objects in pairs. This already stimulates cooperation between them. Guide the search by saying “hot” if what you're looking for is close, “warm” if it's at medium distance, or “cold” when it's far away. After all the packages are found, ask what activities can be done with the materials and take the opportunity to better explain the function of each one. Show how and where they will be stored, highlighting the importance of keeping the work environment well organized.

My name is…

Make name tags with the children's names and place them on the floor of the room, in the middle of a wheel. Ask each person to identify their name. Encourage initial letter recognition, count how many letters make up each name, and make them see the same letters in different names. When everyone has a badge, start a nice chat about their preferences regarding a predetermined topic (such as food, games, objects or places). Group children according to affinities. In the next step, ask students to draw what they like on a piece of paper and name it. Anyone who doesn't know how to write alone can copy the badge. Once ready, the drawings are shown to colleagues and then displayed on the wall. With the literate, the dynamic is the same, but, in addition to drawing, they can make a list of their preferences.

closed circle

Objective: exclusion of colleagues
The Teacher asks two or three students to leave the room for a moment.
Arrange with the remaining group that they must form a tight circle with their arms intertwined and not let the others (who are outside the room) enter this circle at all.
While the group is getting ready, the Professor agrees with those who are outside that they must enter the room and try to integrate with the group that is there.
After a few minutes of trying, discuss with the group how they felt about not letting or not being able to join the group.
We often form real “pots” and we don't let other people come in and feel good in our midst.

expectations

Objective: icebreaker
Material: inflatable balls (bladder), permanent pen (type for overhead projector).
Start with welcoming the group
Distribute the balls and ask them to fill and close with a knot. Each person should write on the ball, using an overhead pen, a phrase or word that expresses their expectations for the new year

As they finish writing, they get up and play with each other with the balls, without letting them explode. At the signal, each one takes one of the balls, any one, and forms groups according to the color of the bladder. The group reads what is on the balloons and talks about it... Hang the balloons and leave them hanging all week

bottle of compliments

Material: An empty bottle (can be soda). The group should sit in a circle.
The Professor places the bottle on the floor in the center of the room and makes it spin quickly, when it stops he will be pointing the bottle at someone. The Teacher will say a word of welcome, encouragement or praise to that person.
The person indicated by the bottle will then have the task of turning it and talking to whoever it points to and so on

Big hug

Put on background music and ask students to walk around randomly.
Then ask them to form pairs and then ask them to hug. They should go back to walking, but now in pairs. As a next command, ask the pairs to hug each other forming groups of four members and so on until they form a big hug with the whole class.

Team spirit

Objective: trust that we have in our friend, team spirit and valuing people.
Ask the group to stand back to back, shoulder to shoulder. Then ask each pair to lower themselves to the floor without putting their hands on the floor. Some will fall, others will make it.
To close by talking about the trust we have to have in our friend, about team spirit and valuing people.

Come closer

Objective: The objective of this dynamic is to get closer to people, gain trust and, above all, respect.
Students should walk freely around the room or patio listening to music. The Teacher will give the commands the moment the music is paused. You can start by asking each person to shake hands with the colleague in front of them. The music starts playing again and when you pause it again, you can ask him to greet the colleague in front of him by patting him on the shoulder or back, and so on until it ends in a strong hug.

Dynamics back to school early childhood education – Games for the beginning of classes

Are we going to prepare to welcome the children to school? Here I bring some suggestions for group dynamics for the first days of class.

DYNAMICS OF THE NAME

Objective: This dynamic proposes an “ice breaker” between the participants. It can be proposed on the first day a group meets. It's great for recording the names of each one.

Development: In a circle, seated or standing, the participants go one by one to the center of the circle (or in their place) and speak their full name, together with any gesture. Then everyone should say the person's name and repeat the gesture made by him.

Variation: This dynamic can be done only with the person's first name and gesture, and everyone must repeat in addition, or that is, the first says its name, with its gesture and the second says the name of the previous one and its gesture and its name and its gesture... and so on against. Usually done with small groups to facilitate memorization. But a maximum cumulative number can be stipulated, for example, after the 8th, another cycle of 1-8 people must start.


DYNAMICS: RECREATION WITH COLORS

Objective: Interaction among peers Preparation: The teacher prepares colored cards according to the number of students. Example: 04 cards of each color – blue, yellow, green, red, white and orange to randomly distribute among 24 children.

Development: It proposes a different break: ” Today you will spend the break with your colleagues who receive the same color as the card that each one of you will receive. It's an opportunity to get to know each other even better. It will be a colorful, different playground and, in return, we will talk about the experiences of each group.” The teacher distributes the cards and asks that before they go out to play and have a snack, that they organize in groups and talk about the received color (what it symbolizes for each one, what exists in that color…) The reflection after the break is extremely important for the construction of some values.


DYNAMICS: DO 1, 2, 3

Objective: Back to school icebreaker

Procedures: 1st moment: Pairs are formed and then ask them to start counting from one to three, now one starts, now the other. Stay easy. 2nd moment: Ask that instead of saying the number 1, clap your hands, the other numbers should be pronounced normally. 3rd moment: Ask that instead of saying the number 2, that they hit their stomachs with both hands, the number 3 should be pronounced normally. It starts to get complicated. 4th moment: Ask that instead of saying the number 3, that they give a “swing”. The situation is very fun.


DYNAMICS: THE PRESENT

Objective: Adaptation of students back to school.

Preparation: Students should sit in a circle. Each one will pass the gift on to whoever thinks it corresponds to the aforementioned qualities. The teacher must prepare a beautiful gift box, without telling the students what is inside. The gift is made up of candies that will be distributed to all students in the class.

Development: 1- Usually the teacher starts the game, passing it on to a student, saying: - This gift is blessed! Pass it on to the person you think is the most BEAUTIFUL. 2- Congratulations! Too bad your BEAUTY will not make the gift stay with you. Pass it on to whoever you think is more JOYFUL at the moment. 3- Congratulations! Too bad the gift still won't stay with you. You look great! Even so, pass the gift on to whoever you think is more CHIC. 4- You have the whole ball, except the present. Pass it on to the INTELLIGENT person. 5- How smart you are! Soon you must know that the gift is not yours yet. Pass it on to whoever you think is more EXTROVERTED. 6- What is inside there? Too bad you still won't know! Pass it on to whoever you think is more vain (A). 7- Vanity is neither quality nor defect. You haven't been elected yet. The gift is not yours, maybe it will be from whoever you think is more SHY (A). Deliver the gift to him (a). 8- It could be yours if there weren't among us a person more DEDICATED to everything he does. Give her the gift 9- You are very dedicated, but you will know how to recognize that there is a SIMPLE and HONEST person in this room. Give her the gift. 10- With such HONESTY, you will know how to recognize that everyone wanted the gift. So you won't want it all to yourself. Open it and distribute it to ALL COLLEAGUES.


DYNAMICS: THINK WELL

Goals: Not doing with the other what we would not want them to do with us; to show that we sometimes demand things from other people that we are not even capable or would like to do.

Development: In a circle each person will receive a paper and write their name. Mix them all up and pick them randomly (can't be your own). Write what you would like the person whose name is at the top to do in the center of the circle. When the person reads what he has written, the animator tells him that it is the person who wrote that he will do it...


DYNAMICS OF LOVE

Objective: Moral: We should wish the other what we want for ourselves.

Procedure: For the beginning of the year, read the text or tell the story of the “Broken Heart”: - A certain man was about to win the contest with the most beautiful heart. His heart was beautiful, without any wrinkles, without any damage. Until an old man appeared and said that his heart was the most beautiful, because there was in it. There were several comments like: "How is your heart the most beautiful, with so many marks?" The good old man then explained that for this very reason his heart was beautiful. Those marks represented his experience, the people he loved and who loved him. Finally everyone agreed, the young man's heart, although smooth, did not have the old man's experience."

Development: After counting the text, distribute a heart cutout (pink bond folded in half and cut into a heart shape), magazines, glue and scissors. Participants should look for pictures that could be inside each other's heart. Make the collage and present it to the group. Afterwards each one will receive a smaller heart and will be instructed that inside it he must write what he wants for his heart. Or whatever your heart is full... My heart is full of… At the end the instructor should lead the group to exchange hearts, give their heart to another. Exchange cards with an appropriate song, such as Student Heart, American Song or other.

Dynamic back to school early childhood education – 13 games

Sleeping jaguar 

Form a large circle with the students. Each child is inside a small circle drawn under their feet, except for one who will be in the center of the wheel, lying down with their eyes closed. She is the sleeping jaguar. Development: All players walk freely, leaving their places, except for the sleeping jaguar that continues to sleep. They must challenge the jaguar by shouting: “sleeping jaguar”! Unexpectedly, the jaguar wakes up and runs to grab one of the marked places on the ground. All other children try to do the same. Whoever runs out of place will be the new sleeping jaguar. Suggestion: The teacher can provide an e sudo about the jaguar, according to the children's interests: Who has seen a jaguar? To where? When? How is she? How do you live? What do you eat? Who wants to imitate her? Make a mask out of cardboard or cardboard for the one who will play the role of the jaguar. Based on this study, the child, when developing the activity, will create a character related to the game.

elephant race

Children walk freely around the courtyard. One of them separated, uses one arm holding the tip of the nose with the hand and the other arm passing through the empty space formed by the arm. (Imitating an elephant's trunk). Development: At the signal, the catcher goes out to pick up the others using only the arm that is free (The other is still holding the nose). Whoever is touched also transforms into an elephant, therefore, into a catcher, adopting the same position. The last to be arrested will be the winner. Suggestion: During play, children can walk like an elephant.

Seesaw

Two players sit facing each other and support the soles of their feet. They must hold a stick in both hands. When the signal sounds, they must each pull the bat to their side, trying to get their friend off the ground. The one who manages to raise the friend wins. Swap pairs and start over. Make the children feel the weight of the friend in front of them, observe the force they have to use to lift him, the muscles that move to make this happen. If you have a big stick, put three kids on each side, the group that can lift the other one wins.

Who is the little ghost?

Divide the class into two teams. One must leave the site. Given the signal, the team outside will send a child covered with a sheet. The team will try to find out who the hidden child is. If it hits, it scores two points.

giggle game

Children in a circle. Given the signal, a player will laugh. The fellow on your left will laugh twice. The third, three laughs. And so on. Anyone who does not follow the sequence will leave the game.

rob tail 

Players will be in the courtyard, each with a string tail tied behind them. Two players will be the payers. At the signal they must remove the child's tail. Whoever manages to catch the most tails will be the winner.

stool dance

Make a wheel with a stool and in a number lower (-1) than the number of Participant child. Put on a song to play and everyone starts running or dancing around the stool, with their hands behind their backs, right next to it. At some point, stop the music and each child should sit on the nearest stool. One of them will not be seated, having to leave with a stool. The game restarts. The child who gets possession of the last stool wins.

Fly, don't fly...

The children will be seated in a circle. The teacher will speak the name of a bird, and the children will move their arms and hands as if they were flying. When the teacher speaks the name of something that does not fly, children should have their arms and hands immobilized. Whoever makes a mistake leaves the game or pays a gift. Ex: “Butterfly flies? (Everyone will imitate the flight.) Alligator flies? (All must remain immobile). The teacher must use his skill to deceive the children.

Which child is different?

Form a circle with the children. One will be outside the wheel, facing the wall. Development: the children who are in the circle must be in the same position, except one, which is different from the others. Then, the child who was outside the circle must find out who is different, and must say the difference noted. Another child is chosen to leave the circle, continuing the game.

One two Three and go!

A starting line is drawn on the ground and, at a distance, a finish line. Children must stay behind the starting line. Development: at the start signal “one, two and three”; the children run forward until they hear the order “stop”. At that point, everyone stops running and stays in place. Again the order “one, two and three to be stopped, some time later, is repeated, continuing until everyone reaches the final line.

running from the kangaroo 

Preparation: children next to each other in a straight line placed about 10 m away from the finish line (mark the finish line with chalk). Development: the teacher must give the signal and the children jump like a kangaroo, to the finish line. Repeat the run jumping on the other leg.

the cat and the mouse 

Students will be divided into two groups: cat and mouse. Once the game is started, the rats will drop shredded paper wherever they go. The cats will have to go after the rats collecting the shredded papers. The child who collects the most papers will win the game.

Chairs with shoes 

At the signal, the blindfolded participant should crawl around looking for sneakers or shoes (which were spread out earlier), and as they are found, they are placed on the feet of the chairs. The winner will be whoever puts the most shoes on their feet.
