Meet in this post the Africa Map (South and North) and geographic data for the continent.
Africa is the third largest continent with about 30 million square kilometers, covering 20.3% of the total land area of the planet.
It is the second most populous continent on Earth with about one billion people, representing about one-seventh of the world's population, and 54 independent countries.

Where they are: Based on the line of the equator that divides the world in half, we observe that the African continent has lands both to the NORTH and to the SOUTH. And in relation to the Greenwich Meridian, Africa is found largely in the east or east region, and in lesser amount of land in the west or west.
Continent formation: According to the theory of Continental Drift by the German scientist Alfred Wegener, the continents were united in the past, and this great continent was called Pangea, a Greek word meaning “all earth” and a large body of water called Panthalassa. And due to the movement of plates on the ocean floor, these land masses were separating forming the continents we know.
Size and location: On average 80% of Africa is found in the intertropical region of the Earth, that is, they are located between the tropic of Capricorn, which lies to the south, and the tropic of Cancer, to the north. The rest of the continent is found in temperate regions.
African Relief: The African continent is constituted by a large crystalline shield, has modest altitudes with an average altitude of 600 m, predominantly plateau, worn by erosion.
To the northwest we find the Atlas Mountains, formed by recent rocks, the culmination is the Tbukal with 4,165 m. To the south of the Atlas Range, we have a large plateau with altitudes around 450 m, known as the Sahara Desert.
Going down on the map we find the Great Lakes Plateau, here we find volcanic formations, which give rise to the highest altitudes in the region, such as Mount Kilimanjaro, with its 5,895 meters of altitude.
