There was a huge snake that slept peacefully in its cave. In order for him to be able to see anything, he needed to open his eyes wide. That way his pupils were dilated, huge.
One day, it started to rain, it rained a lot, it was more like a deluge. And all places began to flood, as the water came violently and swallowed everything wherever it went. The desperate animals all ran to the top of a mountain, where they gathered.
The large snake, also called boiguaçu, which slept peacefully in its cave, was forced to leave its home and also climbed the mountain. When he got up there and found the other animals, he devoured them one by one, but he only ate the animals' eyes.
Something fantastic began to happen: the snake's body became transparent and luminous, as the eyes of the animals it had eaten continued to shine. The snake's eyes got much bigger, immense, it seemed that it was releasing fire from its eyes, they were like two big furnaces. That's when boiguaçu turned into boitatá!
Boitatá received a punishment for his wickedness; he was forced to guard the fields eternally, frightening careless travelers. Your mission is to protect all fields and lawns from destruction and fire.
