The five senses

The purpose of this activities is to awaken the student to a critical perception of the environment in which they live through the use and development of organs of senses, in order to develop the concept of preservation/conservation, as it is responsible for the environment that surrounds it.

The purpose of this Science Activities for the 2nd year it is knowing the origin of our food and the quality of our food.

Our health

The purpose of this Science Activities for the 2nd year is Reinforcing the importance of vaccination and other forms of prevention against various diseases.

Step by step of this activity

• Ask each student to bring a copy of their vaccination card.
• Take the opportunity to mention that this portfolio is a document and, like other documents, it should be well kept.
• Organize the class into pairs and ask students to review each other's vaccination cards.
• Ask them to stick to the following points:
•  age of vaccine application;
•  date the dose was applied.
• In fact, the intention is for children to check that they are up to date with the vaccination schedule. If any student is late, advise them to talk to their parents or guardians to arrange an update as soon as possible.

Second activity - Food

• Have the children choose a day of the week and write down everything they ate during that day.
• It is important that these notes start first thing in the morning, at home, when breakfast is taken, and end after the last meal.
• The next day, as a homework assignment, the students should put together a board, classifying the foods according to their origin - animal, vegetable or mineral -, with the origin - natural or industrialized - and with the form of consumption - raw or cooked, fried, roast etc.

• Before students define the origin of prepared foods, such as bread, guide them to consider the ingredients from which they are produced.

Assessment - Health

• Give each student a sheet of paper divided into four parts.
• Ask them to draw on each part a care we should take with our health.
• Ask them to make an explanatory caption about the chosen care.

• A sheet of cardboard in sky blue color.
• A sheet of green mirror paper for the vegetation plan.
• A sheet of dark blue mirror paper for the water plane.
• Multi-colored papers for folding.
• Glue
• Magazine clippings with images of nature to compose the panel.
• Scissors
• Folding of animals produced with colored papers.

Procedures

• Create a natural environment on cardboard using green and dark blue mirror paper.
• Paste other elements that represent nature to complete the scenario.
• Glue the folds onto the panel, according to the environment of each animal.
