THE education it is a fundamental right that helps not only the development of a country, but also of each individual. Your importance it goes beyond increasing individual income or the chances of getting a job. Through education, we guarantee our social, economic and cultural development.

In August 1827, on the 11th, the then emperor D. Peter I instituted in Brazil the first two higher education courses in the country, working in São Paulo and Olinda, in the areas of legal and social sciences.
Studying in Brazil at that time was not possible, there were higher education courses in more developed countries. Brazilians sought this in Europe.
But because the August 11th for Student Day? In fact, before this date was celebrated on the day May 19th, in honor of Santo Ivo (patron of lawyers).
When law school, in 1927, completed 100 years, the lawyer Celso Gand Ley, who was one of the members of this celebration, proposed that August 11 be registered as the National Day of Student.

He was born on October 17, 1253, near Treguier, in Lower Brittany, France. His name, Yves Hélory, (Helori or Heloury) was the son of Lord Helory of Kermartin and Azo Du Kenquis. He was from a gentry family, with a refined and Christian education.
When he finished his first studies, he was sent in 1267 at the age of 14 to the University of Paris, where he studied theology, having the opportunity to be a student of the great and famous Saint Thomas Aquinas.
The National Union of Students is a Brazilian student organization, being one of the main representatives of higher education students in the country, headquartered in São Paulo, in addition to sub-headquarters in Rio de January and Goiás.

The student, in addition to constantly exercising his neurons to expand his knowledge, is also subject to a series of responsibilities. We are, above all, the admirable and intellectual base on which the progress of a structure that daily needs help, which we call society, will depend on. It is certain, then, that the destiny of a society, a country, a world is in your hands, students!
