Exhibition at the Botanical Garden highlights the scientist's visit to Rio in 1832
Father of the Theory of Evolution, naturalist Charles Darwin gained exposure in Rio, 210 years after his birth. Promoting a dialogue between art and science, the exhibition Darwin Origins & Evolution will present the scientist's trajectory and his relationship with Brazil.
Arte Clube spoke with the curator of the exhibition, Diogo Rezende, who told details of the exhibition, such as the interactive section, partnerships with national and international institutes to gather the collection, and the importance of Brazil for evolutionary theory, which completes 160 years old.
In 1832, the naturalist docked the ship Beagle in the country for five months, with stays in Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition is an investigative expedition that blends ____ a creative science class where entertainment, interactivity and discoveries set the tone for the experience.
