NAME:

that egg

– What are you doing, Guga? - asked Grandma from time to time.
– I'm doing ecology – replied the girl.
– And do you know what ecology is?
- Yes I know. My father taught me. We must take care of plants and animals. Otherwise, the world could end.
- Ah yes? And what are you taking care of?
– I'm fluffing the earth to help the worms. Don't you know that earthworms air the earth and also fertilize the earth? Then I'll plant some seeds. And after-after, I will water the seeds every day.

And she continued to poke at the earth.
One day she discovered something very strange. While digging around the ground next to a large tree, she found an object that appeared to be an egg. She removed all the dirt around that thing and, in fact, saw that it was an egg. But it was a huge egg, bigger than a dozen, two dozen chicken eggs together. It was about the size of a small watermelon.
– What is this, Guga? - Grandma wanted to know.
– I think it's an egg.
– Is it ostrich egg, emu egg?
“I don't know that,” the girl replied. – But that's an egg, yeah. So I'm going to hatch the egg. That way we know which animal is my egg.
– Shock, Guga? Did you say shock?! - Grandma exclaimed.
– That's right: shock. What do you have? If the egg was small, I would ask a hen to hatch. But because he is big, I am shocked myself.
– I've never seen such a thing: a girl hatching an egg!
Grandma was amused, but let Guga do what she wanted. And so, the girl studied her lessons, read books and played with the dolls, always sitting on the egg. She only dropped the egg at mealtimes and at bedtime. Even so, when she had to abandon the egg, she covered it with her blanket. Was something born? No, nothing was born. At least during those fifteen days of vacation, not a single chick was born.
-Guga, aren't you going to fluff the earth for the worms anymore? They must be missing… - Grandma said.
- I can not now. The worms can wait a little longer. I'm hatching my egg - answered Guga very seriously.
– So, you stopped being an ecologist?
– No, grandma. Now I'm helping an animal to be born. I'm being very ecologist! - And she repeated, spelling: - E-co-lo-gis-tis-si-ma.
