Archimedes was a Greek scientist who lived over 2,200 years ago. He made many important discoveries and inventions, like the screw that bears his name, which can move water from below to the top and generate energy to propel something. Many centuries later, the great navigators took advantage of this fantastic creation to move their vessels.
