O Basketball is a sport in which two teams dispute possession of the ball and manipulate it with their hands, with the objective of making it enter a basket fixed 3 meters from the ground on the opponent's side of the court.
In this modality, players can only walk with the ball if it bounces on the ground along the court.

Basketball emerged in 1891 in the United States, created by a Massachusetts physical education teacher named James. Naismith.
James Naismith invented basketball to cater. the requests of his students, who were unable to play football. American and Baseball in winter, due to the cold and snow.
So Nailsmith developed a game to be played. on indoor courts, dividing their students into two teams, defining them alone. they could walk with the ball hitting it on the ground and the points would be scored. when players hit the glue in the basket.
The game became popular and in 1932 a. International Amateur Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Basketball became an Olympic sport in the. 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
Currently, the International Basketball Federation. has about 200 affiliated countries, and aims to organize. basketball events around the world.
The game of basketball is played on a tennis court. minus 26 meters long by 14 meters wide, with baskets. positioned three meters above the ground, on each side of the court.
A match is divided into four halves of ten. minutes each, except NBA matches (the duration of each half is twelve. minutes).
In basketball, the amount of points scored. it depends on the position from which the player throws the ball.
If the throw is taken on a free throw, it is. scored a point; if the throw is taken in a normal throw, they are scored. two points; if the throw is taken outside the line six meters away. of the basket, three points are scored.
