Basketball or Basketball: Learn the History and Rules of Basketball

History. of basketball

Basketball emerged in 1891 in the United States, created by a Massachusetts physical education teacher named James. Naismith.

James Naismith invented basketball to cater. the requests of his students, who were unable to play football. American and Baseball in winter, due to the cold and snow.

Basketball became an Olympic sport in the. 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

Currently, the International Basketball Federation. has about 200 affiliated countries, and aims to organize. basketball events around the world.

How is a basketball game

The game of basketball is played on a tennis court. minus 26 meters long by 14 meters wide, with baskets. positioned three meters above the ground, on each side of the court.

A match is divided into four halves of ten. minutes each, except NBA matches (the duration of each half is twelve. minutes).
