After the first locomotives came the tram, an electric vehicle often used for public transport. In Brazil, the tram was very common in the main cities. Today, few still work. The most charming of them is the one that goes up to the Santa Tereza neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. It's a super cool tour, try it!
In 1863, the subway appeared. It was quite a revolution. After all, subway cars went underground! Today, in big cities, the subway is the best form of transport, because it doesn't pollute the air and with it you stay away from terrible traffic jams.
But, in terms of transport, the big step was taken by the German Karl Benz, who invented the car in 1885. But it was so expensive, so expensive, that it wasn't until 1908 that people could start buying it.
