Clarice Lispector (1925-1977) spent her childhood in Recife and in 1937 moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she graduated in law. She debuted in literature at a very young age with the novel near the wild heart
(1943), which received a warm reception from the critics and received the Graça Aranha Award. Among her most important works are the short story meetings The Foreign Legion (1964) and Family relationships (1972) and the novels The Passion According to GH. (1964) and Star Hour (1977).Clarice Lispector began collaborating in the press in 1942 and, throughout her life, she never completely left journalism. She worked for the National Agency and for the newspapers A Noite and Diário da Noite. She was a columnist for Correio da Manhã and conducted several interviews for Manchete magazine. The author was also a columnist for Jornal do Brasil. Produced between 1967 and 1973, these texts are gathered in the volume Discovering the World.
