Bela Bontempo (Dakota Blue Richards) is a 13-year-old orphan who, after her father's death, needs to be moving from the mansion she lives in to her uncle Benjamin's (Ioan Gruffudd's) gloomy house in the mysterious Valley of Moon. As she strolls through the forest near her new home, she discovers a curse that has divided two families for centuries and puts the valley itself at risk.
In a mysterious world full of disputes of interest and power between the uncle and the sinister family of Coeur De Noir, the young woman discovers that she is the center of everything, as she is the last princess heir to the bloodline. Bela will be guided by a legion of strange allies in an attempt to maintain her family's honor and prevent Moon Valley from disappearing forever.
To save the place, she needs to break the spell before the 5,000th full moon. The young woman has the help of chef Pierre (Michael Webber), a crazy cook, Mrs. Lavender (Juliet Stevenson), her nanny, and the dog Rufus. During the film Bela meets Robin, the youngest of the Coeur De Noir family (her family rival), and the two end up becoming fond of each other, helping to save the Valley of the Moon.
