Read the text:

The king of Portugal thought the land was his.
He didn't even recognize that this land had an owner.
He didn't even recognize that this land belonged to indigenous peoples.
It was soon dividing our land.
HE NOR RESPECTED OUR RIGHT!
He divided the land into 15 pieces.
He gave every piece to a rich man from Portugal.
Each of these pieces was called a captaincy.
Each captaincy owner was like a governor.
He had to have a felling done.
He had to have a planting done.

He had to take care of the land for other governments not to take from Portugal […]
THE PORTUGUESE COME TO BRAZIL THINKING TO ENRICH.
The Portuguese only thought of a way to get richer!
The land of Europe does not yield sugarcane.
Our land was good for planting sugarcane.
Then, the owners of the captaincies occupied the Indians' lands, expelled the Indians from their lands and began to cut down all the Indian forests...
THE OWNERS OF THE CAPITANIAS PLANTED CANE.
A LOT OF CANE IN THE LAND OF THE INDIANS.
