Marine iguanas live in the Galápagos archipelago, which belongs to Ecuador. They are very different animals from the iguanas we have in Brazil! Firstly for the appearance. Marine iguanas have a stocky body and short legs. Adults have a row of spines along the back, which extends from the nape of the neck to the tail. Males have longer spines. They also have larger bony plates on top of the head.
