Near the North Pole lived a bear called Toothless. He was an excellent skater, and to practice this sport he had at his disposal a huge, icy surface that stretched out of sight.
On this municipal track, some newbies were practicing. Among them, two penguins stood out because of their clumsiness.
Sliding at full speed, Toothpick pushed the poor penguins, causing them to fall on the ice.
— Why are you pushing us, vain? The track belongs to everyone and we have the same rights as you to use it! yelled one of the penguins.
Toothless didn't even respond and continued with his pushes. Furious, the two penguins decided to teach him a lesson.
— Toothless, we want to challenge you to a roller-skating race! I bet he can't win! shouted one of the penguins defiantly.
Laughing with laughter, Toothless accepted. He knew it was going to be a silly, ridiculous race. What could the two incapables do against him? They couldn't even stand on their skates!
One of the penguins marked the edge of the runway and gave the start signal with a shout. Blinded by pride, Toothless began to skate without noticing that no one was following him. He was gaining more and more speed, until suddenly he saw that the ice ended and… landed on the water.
Between laughs and jokes, Toothy managed to get out of the water. His pride had taken a heavy toll. He would never again belittle his fellow men.
