NAME:

GHOST

Luan Santana -(Part. Marília Mendonça)

when night falls outside
It's boring in here
even wanting to run away
when i try to escape
I get even closer

my subconscious
go after your body
I've been traveling for hours
How long it takes
so i can go crazy
it's just you and nothing else
I accept this one-sided love
you and nothing else
without him I'm bad

There are no reasons not to be happy
But to be happy
i need a reason
And the reason is you
It has always been you
The ghost of my heart…

Questions

After listening and reading the song “Ghost” by singer Luan Santana, answer:

1) Is the song title used in connotative or denotative language? Explain.

2) Explain what the lyrical self expresses in the following verses, before analyzing the highlighted word:" My subconscious/Go after your body…”

3) Review the following verse:" I accept this love unilateral…” The highlighted word expresses that:

a) The lyrical self is reciprocated by the loved one, because unilateral means that both parties have an interest in this novel.

4) Read the following stanza:

There are no reasons not to be happy
But to be happy
i need a reason
And the reason is you
It has always been you
The ghost of my heart…

Explain in your words what the lyrical self expresses in this stanza?

5) Translating the title of the song into real language, we have as meaning: fanciful, illusory image that instills terror. In Brazil there are numerous "real ghosts" that live haunting and terrorizing the population, for example, the pension reform, the inflation, unemployment, violence and crime, corruption, terrible conditions in the areas of health and education, high taxes, between others.

Do a research on each item listed above, after writing a dissertation-argumentative text positioning itself in relation to the problem that it believes to be the most aggravating for the Brazilian population in this time. Your text should:

– be written in the high standard;

– have at least 15 lines;

– have a title;

– be coherent (do not run away from the theme);

– have at least three paragraphs (introduction, development and conclusion).

– When writing, use the words and expressions below to clarify the logical relationships between sentences, periods and paragraphs, that is, to give cohesion to your text.

  • cause, explanation, reason:because;
  • Consequence:so, so, so, so, so, so, so;
  • Exemplification: eg like, ie that is;
  • Opposition: but, however, however, however, however, on the contrary;
  • Concession: even though, despite, though;
  • Reaffirmation or summary: in other words, in summary, indeed;
  • Temporal binding: so what, then until, when, finally, after;
  • space link: to the side, over, to the left, in the middle, at the bottom;
  • Comparison and Emphasis: similarly, equally, in that way;
  • Addition: and then beyond that, too;
  • Conclusion: therefore, well, finally, in summary, concluding.

At the end of your production, make the necessary corrections and deliver it to your teacher.

To conclude, choose another topic from the surveys you have carried out and present a seminar, create a parody, present a skit or create an information panel and exhibit it on the wall of your school. Good work!
