Why are we afraid?

Because it's important to our survival. Fear is a natural alert that protects us from danger: it allows you to react when faced with a risky situation – whether to face what is happening or to flee. This feeling only becomes a problem if it appears when there is no reason. Then, you need to talk to your parents and see a doctor to understand why.
