“A (Im) Possible Friendship – The Adventures of Pedro and Aukê in Colonial Brazil”

Pedro and Aukê have the same age and the same size of body and hands, although their lives are very different: Aukê is a Tupinambá curumim who can't wait to join the tribe's men in the hunts and battles across the Forest; while Pedro is a Portuguese who has just arrived in Terra de Santa Cruz, eager to explore the beaches and unknown forests. Similarities and differences aside, the two boys will have their stories crossed in this book, set at dawn. of the country's history, when the first contacts between Europeans and indigenous people began to forge society Brazilian. A rich historical-cultural glossary will help the reader to understand the challenges of this meeting, marked by the red of the red wood of Brazilwood and the sweet taste of sugar cane.
