Carefully read the text. Then answer the proposed interpretative questions:
Once upon a time there was a turtle who had lost his memory and could not remember the way back to his home. She was lost in the woods and crying. She cried so much that the forest began to drenched with tears.
This caused problems for the forest dwarves as water got in – tears in their homes.
Determined to look for the origin of such “flood”, they left their homes to find out what the problem was.
Soon they found the turtle crying desperately and asked him:
– Turtle, why do you cry so much?
– I lost my memory and I don't know how to get back to my house.
The dwarfs had an idea. They put some magic herbs inside the turtle's breastplate and said:
- Every time you want to know what to do, put your head inside the armor full of magic herbs and start thinking. You will see that it works very well!
The tortoise did this: she put her head inside her breastplate, looked at the herbs and thought:
– What is the way for me to return home?
Then he adopted a thoughtful posture and said:
– Oh! I remember, I have to climb this mountain and go down by the creek bank.
The tortoise craned its neck, stuck its head out of its breastplate, thanked the dwarves, and left for its home. […]
From that moment on, the turtle learned what he should do whenever he didn't remember something. She would put her head inside her breastplate, think and decide.
